About Us
About Healthbeam Diabetes Care Center – Pioneering Excellence in Diabetes Care
Our STORY
Why Healthbeam Exists
At Healthbeam Diabetes and Wellness Center, our story is deeply personal. We were founded by Dr. Adeola Akindana, a Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist who lives with diabetes herself. This gives us a unique and powerful perspective—you’re not just another patient, and this isn’t just another clinic.
We know what it’s like to face the daily realities of managing blood sugar, making food choices, and fighting through exhaustion. That’s why we meet you right where you are, guiding you with care, compassion, and expert support—one step at a time.
Dr. Adeola is a highly respected healthcare leader, nurse educator, and diabetes care specialist. With over 30 years in nursing and nearly two decades in diabetes care, she’s helped hundreds of patients take control of their health.
She holds:
- A Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Maryland, Baltimore
- A Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Michigan, Flint
- Certification as a Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES)
Her work spans clinical research, hospital consulting, professional training, and patient advocacy. She has consulted with the CDC, contributed to professional diabetes journals, and trained countless nurses, residents, and community members.
Abiade Ogunsola is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES).
She is the Founder of Restoring Health Nutrition. A private practice that provides nutrition counseling to people of different age groups and demographics. She has experience working with different medical conditions with expertise in diabetes care. As a diabetes educator, she is passionate about providing patients with proven tools to manage the disease and strategies to delay the disease onset. She has experience working with people of different age groups and a range of ethnic backgrounds.
In addition to her dietitian and diabetes training, she also has culinary training and is knowledgeable about different ethnic foods.
Outside of her career, she enjoys reading, traveling, baking and spending time with her family.
